Retatrutide in Slovenia: Price, Quality and What Research Use Only Means

Retatrutide in Slovenia: Price, Quality and What Research Use Only Means
Retatrutide (development code LY-3437943, nicknamed reta online) is the most searched research peptide in Slovenia. This article answers the questions people actually type into Google: how much it costs, why no pharmacy sells it, what the price includes, how to check quality, and what the RUO label means. Everything sold on peptid.si is for research use only and is not intended for use in humans or animals. This is not medical advice.

What retatrutide is and where it stands in development

Retatrutide is a synthetic 39-amino-acid lipopeptide developed by Eli Lilly under the code LY-3437943. Pharmacologists call it a triple agonist because it binds the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors at the same time. Slovenian sources write retatrutid, English sources write retatrutide, and online communities shorten it to reta; all three refer to the same molecule. The compound is still in clinical development: phase 2 results appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2023, and the first phase 3 results from the TRIUMPH programme were announced in December 2025. No regulator, not the FDA, the EMA or Slovenia's JAZMP, has approved retatrutide as a medicine. That single fact frames everything below: what is on the market is a research reagent, not a drug.

Why no pharmacy sells retatrutide

Pharmacies dispense medicines that hold a marketing authorisation. Retatrutide has none anywhere in the world, so it cannot be bought in a pharmacy, with or without a prescription. In April 2026 the Slovenian agency JAZMP published a warning about injectable peptides sold online, stating that such products have no verified quality, safety or efficacy and advising against their purchase. The US FDA, in its notice on unapproved GLP-1 class drugs, states that retatrutide cannot be used in compounding under federal law because it is not a component of any approved drug. The query "retatrutide pharmacy" therefore has a short answer: it is not there and will not be until the compound completes clinical development and is authorised.

How much retatrutide costs in Slovenia and what the price includes

On peptid.si, 10 mg of lyophilised retatrutide costs 146.09 EUR. The price includes an independent certificate of analysis (COA) for the batch the vial comes from, dispatch from Slovenia, and delivery across Slovenia and the EU, free on orders above 150 EUR. It costs more than shorter peptides such as BPC-157 or GHK-Cu for three reasons. First, the molecule is long (39 residues) and carries a lipid side chain, so solid-phase synthesis is more expensive and yields less. Second, every batch is analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for purity and by mass spectrometry (MS) to confirm identity. Third, storage and logistics of lyophilised material need control. A price far below the market average is therefore a warning sign, not a bargain.

Retatrutide tablets do not exist

Searches also include "retatrutide tablets price". Retatrutide is a peptide that digestive enzymes would break down, so in clinical trials it exists only as a solution for subcutaneous injection, and in the research market only as lyophilised powder in a vial. Any listing for retatrutide tablets, capsules or drops is offering something that cannot contain the working molecule, or contains something else entirely. It is one of the clearest warning signs on the market. The same applies to "retatrutide pen" listings with dosed units: a prefilled pen is a pharmaceutical form, not a research reagent, and it implies human use, which is illegal for an unapproved substance.

How to verify quality: COA, HPLC and mass spectrometry

For a research peptide, quality is a document, not a promise. The certificate of analysis for a specific batch must state the identity of the compound, the purity measured by HPLC, and the mass measured by mass spectrometry, which must match the theoretical mass of retatrutide. A 2024 study of semaglutide products bought from online sellers showed how wide the gap between label and content can be: measured purity ranged from 7.7% to 14.4% while labels claimed 99%. That is why peptid.si publishes the COA for every batch in the public COA Vault, so you can check it before buying and compare the batch number on the vial after delivery. For retatrutide it is also worth checking whether the COA states the salt form (for example the sodium salt), because it affects the actual peptide content in milligrams.

The Eli Lilly lawsuits and what they mean for the RUO label

In August 2026 Eli Lilly filed six lawsuits in the United States against companies selling retatrutide, including online sellers, med spas and a compounding pharmacy. The complaints allege that some sellers labelled products "for research use only" while marketing them for human use. The company also said it had referred more than 200 individuals and entities to regulators. The message is clear and we take it seriously: the RUO label is no legal shield if a seller implies human use with words or images. That is why peptid.si carries no dosing instructions, no claims about effects and no prefilled pens, and why every buyer confirms at checkout that the product is intended for research. Anyone looking for a substance for personal use will find neither the product nor advice on this site.

So what does RUO mean for retatrutide

RUO (Research Use Only) means the substance is a laboratory reagent for in vitro experiments and model studies, not a medicine and not a supplement. Buying on peptid.si means three things: you receive lyophilised retatrutide with purity of at least 98% (HPLC) and a public COA for the batch; you receive no instructions for use in humans, because we may not and do not want to give them; and you confirm as the buyer that you are using the product for research. The legal framework in Slovenia and the EU is the same as for any unapproved substance. If your question is how to use it on yourself, the only responsible answer is that retatrutide is in clinical development; follow the published trials and talk to a physician, not to an online shop.
